A dog suffering from caffeine toxicity would be excited and would have increased respiratory rate. Muscle tremors can be noticed. Heavy bleeding and seizures occurs if the dog has ingested foods and drinks containing high levels of caffeine. Arrhytmia and generalized congestion are other signs of caffeine toxicity.

Caffeine taken in the amount tolerable to the dogs system does have some healthful benefits to the dog. Coffee is an effective diuretic.
